AFS WMS (legacy software)

AFS WMS was a cloud-based system suited to 3PL, wholesale distribution, food service distribution, and retail warehouses. It can handle goods that are both perishable and non-perishable.

One of AFS WMS’s key strengths was ease of use on the warehouse floor, dealing with inventory and trailers being received. The software offered a range of core features, including barcoding/ serial tracking, cross-docking, inventory management, and picking and packing. The AFS WMS G2 data analytics solution could be integrated with the WMS should this functionality be required, but does not come as standard.

Dashboards in AFS WMS were configured for ease of use to enable managers to track expected inbound orders and other metrics easily, whilst ser prompts for seal number and temperature on arrival prevent difficult compliance issues further down the line. Elsewhere, QC questions can be prompted by managers at the time of delivery based on the data being entered by the receiving worker.

Acquisition

AFS Technologies was acquired by TELUS Corporation in August 2020 for approximately $315 million. AFS became a cornerstone part of TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, a specialized global business unit launched in a move to digitize and optimize the food and agricultural value chain.
