OrderFlow is a WMS for businesses that have moved beyond what a standard, off-the-shelf WMS can handle. Rather than delivering a fixed product that customers adapt to, OrderFlow configures its platform around each client's specific processes.

The system covers the full warehouse lifecycle: receiving, putaway, stock management, picking, packing, despatch, and returns. It operates as a web-based application, which means it runs in a browser on workstations, mobile handhelds, and other web-enabled devices without requiring dedicated software installs at each terminal.

Who it's for

As a mid-to-upper-market solution for warehousing environments where complexity is the norm rather than the exception, OrderFlow is particularly well-suited to:

  • 3PL providers running multi-client operations that need to separate business rules, stock, and reporting by client.

  • eCommerce and omnichannel retailers processing high volumes of B2C orders, particularly those already using Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or similar platforms who need tight inventory and fulfilment integration.

  • Food and drink businesses that require lot tracking, expiry date management, and shelf-life controls throughout the warehouse process.

  • B2B distributors and manufacturers managing both bulk despatch and complex inbound logistics, including raw material tracking through a production process.

If you run a small, straightforward warehouse and primarily need a system to digitise basic stock records, OrderFlow is likely more than you need (the vendor says as much on their own website).

Core features

  • Inventory management: OrderFlow tracks stock by location, product, lot, and unit of measure. Every movement and status change is individually recorded, giving a complete audit trail. The system supports stock checks at the individual location level, which allows for targeted cycle counting rather than disruptive full warehouse counts.
  • Goods-in and putaway: Goods can be received against purchase orders or ASNs (advance shipping notices). The system supports a wide range of receipt types, including pallet receipt with licence plates, cross-docking, serial number capture, and quarantine or damaged stock handling. Putaway can be system-directed or user-assisted, with slotting logic that ties SKUs to specific locations, separates different batch lots, and distributes fast-moving products across the pickface to reduce travel time.
  • Picking: OrderFlow supports multiple picking strategies: paper-based or handheld, individual or batch, wave, zone-based with consolidation, cluster, and pick-to-put-wall. The most commonly used approach is configurable batch picking, which can filter batches by zone, priority, courier, or destination. Orders can also be assigned to nearby pick locations to reduce walking distance.
  • Packing and despatch: At the packing desk, the system prompts staff to scan each item before it ships. For non-barcoded products, image-based identification is available. Despatch notes and labels print automatically as packing completes. For large orders, the system saves progress so packers can pause and resume without losing their place. A transportation module tracks individual shipments from the packing desk to specific trailers or vans departing the warehouse.
  • Returns: OrderFlow supports returns with or without a return merchant authorisation (RMA). Staff can record return reason codes, condition, and images. The system validates returned items against original orders and can trigger notifications to third-party systems.
  • Lot and batch tracking: The lot tracking module captures expiry dates and other batch-specific data at goods-in and enforces rules throughout fulfilment;preventing different lots of the same SKU from being mixed in storage or ensuring a customer order ships entirely from a single batch. It also flags stock approaching its sell-by date and manages the removal process
  • Reporting and dashboards: Real-time dashboards display configurable key metrics across all warehouse activity. The system includes a standard report library and a framework for building custom reports from scratch or by cloning existing ones. Reports can be scheduled and sent automatically to designated recipients. A mobile app provides access to key data when staff are away from the warehouse.
  • Automation and robotics: OrderFlow supports integration with automated picking systems and robotics. One published case study describes its use to connect robot-driven picking with put-to-light consolidation in a high-volume fulfilment centre.
