TAI TMS

Tai TMS is a cloud-based transportation management system for freight brokers and 3PL providers.

Founded in 2005 by veterans of the freight industry, Tai Software is based in Huntington Beach, California. In August 2026, Descartes Systems Group purchased Tai Software for around $100 million, integrating it into its logistics tech collection, which already includes MacroPoint, MyCarrierPortal, and Aljex. Extensiv was acquired shortly thereafter.

Key features:

• Quoting and automated load creation. Inbound customer emails and AI-assisted rate and capacity matching to reduce manual quoting work.

• Carrier sourcing and integrations: Tai integrates with over 500 partner systems, including carriers, load boards, tracking providers, and accounting platforms. Recent additions include a generative AI partnership with Parade and container visibility through OpenTrack.

• LTL-specific tools: Includes less-than-truckload rating, class validation, and freight bill auditing. 

• Tracking and visibility: Shipment tracking is built into the core platform across the modes it supports, rather than selling it as a separate add-on.

• Billing and invoicing: Automates carrier bill retrieval, audits it against expected payments, flags discrepancies, and generates customer invoices. 

• Client portal: Brokers get a branded client portal as well as dashboards covering lane profitability, commissions, and variance analysis.

Pricing

TAI TMS has five pricing plans: Growth, Premium, Premium+, Pro and, Enterprise. Every plan up to the latter is priced by usage (staff and client logins, carrier profiles, and customer EDIs) rather than paywalled feature sets.

They all include partner integrations, a branded client portal, and API consultation. They also include the same support tiers (email, phone, a dedicated customer success manager, a dedicated launch process, and quarterly business reviews).

Plans include overage pricing for brokerages that exceed their included shipment volume, though the overage rate itself has not been made public.
