Oracle to acquire WMS firm LogFire

Oracle is to acquire LogFire, a cloud-based warehouse management software maker based in Atlanta, for an undisclosed sum.

LogFire’s cloud software for warehouse management will be merged with Oracle’s logistics-focused Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cloud suite. The two companies are no strangers to one another either; Oracle previously integrated LogFire’s system into Oracle Transportation Management.

Now LogFire’s management and employees will be joining Oracle while LogFire’s current product roadmap is under review.

“Oracle will leverage our expertise in the cloud-based warehouse management space while we integrate into Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cloud’s broad suite of innovative applications that enables supply chain organizations to modernize their supply chain processes,” said LogFire CEO and founder Diego Pantoja-Navajas.

LogFire was founded in 2007 and had raised more than $9 million in funding since 2014. It has over 40 customers in the retail, e-commerce, and logistics industries. Oracle provided no timeline for when it expects the acquisition deal to close.

Oracle has been on something of a spending spree of late, buying up a number of software firms. This year alone it has scooped up SaaS and cloud companies Opower, Textura, Crosswise, Ravello Systems, and AddThis. Most notably it recently began an acquisition of NetSuite for $9.3 billion, though that deal is facing scrutiny from NetSuite’s shareholders.
